The Growth Map - BRICs are here to stay

The premise for "The Growth Map" is clear. A decade after declaring that the future of global growth would be focused on the BRICs, the author of the concept shows that his forecast was true and exceeded anyone's expectations. Jim O'Neill provides spirited story about the future of the global growth still being in the hands of the BRIC's and the N11, the next elven countries in growth potential. The balance of economic power will continue to move away form the G7 regardless of short-term growth slowdowns.

That being said, there has to be more reform in the BRICs., Brazil is seeing slow growth and needs to rebuild infrastructure. Russia has to move away from being a extraction economy to one of more balance. India needs more private reforms and less regulation. China has to become more of a consumer lead economy with less regulation in financial services. The last decade may have been the easy growth. Allocating resources to more productive sectors causes a nice productivity and growth surge, but the real work to make sustainable economies will have to occur over the next decade.
